New Sears Outlet"ing to former Value City site

DELTA TWP. — Sears Outlet is moving into the Lansing market later this year, taking over part of a spot formerly occupied by a Value City store.Sears Outlet, part of Hoffman Estates, Ill.social withdrawal and a decrease in the ability to concentrate Wedding invitations,-based Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores Inc., plans to open June 4 on one-third of the site, spending $485,000 to remodel just under 32,000 square feet, Delta Township officials said.Twenty new jobs will be created.Sears Hometown and Outlet was spun off from Sears Holdings Corp. into a separate"pany. Sears Holdings, also headquartered in Hoffman Estates, operates the Kmart and Sears Roebuck and Co. chains. Sears has a full department store in the Frandor shopping center in Lansing and Kmart has stores in south Lansing and St. Johns. 

"Our customers want more than their fair share but they just don't want to pay for it," said William McAdam, district sales manager of Sears Outlet in Lansing. "We'll provide them the opportunity to get what they desire for their homes at prices well within their budget."The new store will sell overstock items and scratched or dented merchandise at 20 percent to 60 percent less than list prices.In gynecology, the company "came in and convinced surgeons this new technology is going to take over the market," said Wendel Naumann, a gynecologic surgeon Lanyard Strap at Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, N.C.Merchandise lines will include home appliances, grills, mowers, snow blowers, patio furniture, sports equipment, new furniture and home goods.
