Blues hope 'The Extractor' is the new 'Diesel'

HE IS nicknamed "The Extractor" and has been likened to AFL great Greg Williams, but Carlton's top draft pick Patrick Cripps isn't daunted by the hype. After the Blues landed Cripps with pick 13 in last week's NAB AFL Draft, the club's national recruiting manager Shane Rogers excited Carlton fans by declaring that the Western Australian teenager possessed "a Diesel Williams-like brain", in that "he can see things out of the side of his eyes at the tightest angle".Cripps concedes he knows precious little of the dual Brownlow medallist – after all, he was just six months old when Williams won the Norm Smith Medal to pilot the Blues to the 1995 premiership, and was only two when the champion centreman retired in 1997 – but he is keen to learn.

"From what I've heard he was a sensational player. For my game style to be compared [with] him is an honour," Cripps told reporters at Visy Park on Tuesday morning."I don't like to compare my game to really anyone – everyone's got different traits – but I'd love to watch a bit of his footage and try and learn things off it."The Blues also unveiled their two other draftees, dashing full-back Cameron Giles and midfield scrapper Nick Holman, but most attention was focused on Cripps.Rogers also revealed last week that the Blues' recruiting staff had been referring to Cripps as "The Extractor" all season.

Cripps accepts that such nicknames are beyond his control, but doesn't shy away from it either."It's only a nickname but I suppose it came from my game style: I like to get in there and get it out. 'Extract' is a term you can use.Prosecutor Izolda Switala-Gribbin told Westminster Magistrates' Court: "A member of staff by the name of Hassan was at the time working in the office preparing a stock count when he could see on CCTV {$} a naked man in the corridor of the fourth floor.2013 bottom coil e-cigarette MT3 It's good," he said.He said his cousin,The index is up 0.4 percent this month, a muted gain fuel hose compared with October, when it rose 4.5 percent as investors bet that the Fed would continue with its economic stimulus after a 16-day government shutdown crimped growth and hurt consumer confidence. Cryptographers still don't know how widespread the issue is.Cripps has also been helped by a growth spurt that has seen him shoot up about 15cm in the past two years. He is now an imposing 188cm and 88kgs – an advantage of about 12cm and 2kgs on Williams in his heyday.Asked whether he could continue to grow into the key forward the Blues have been craving, Cripps joked: "Who knows? I could even be a ruckman."

E-cigarettes: a panacea for Zimbabwe?

Not only did I see it four times when it was in theaters, I also watched a VHS copy of it so often that the tape warped. If you've just crawled out from under that rock,Chefs branch out for any number of reasons: the China visa added revenue or the fresh publicity in a business enamored of novelty and grand openings. "Mrs. Doubtfire" is a 1993 movie starring Robin Williams and Sally Field as San Francisco married couple Daniel and Miranda Hillard. Miranda, the breadwinner, files for divorce and earns sole custody of their three children; Daniel, an unemployed actor, creates a ruse to see his beloved children more often by becoming their nanny... their elderly, British nanny, with the adopted moniker of "Mrs. Doubtfire" featuring an elaborate costume, lovingly crafted by his brother and his brother's partner, to boot.

On the eve of its 20th anniversary, I was asked to muse on the Academy Award-winning flick once more; it's with great pleasure and a liberal spritz of the atomizer that I present to you the 15 most important things from — or inspired by — "Mrs. Doubtfire."Health officials say tobacco smoking is the largest cause of preventable death on the entire planet. Lighting up a cigarette increases the risk that you or those constantly around you are at risk of contracting a multitude of diseases and health complications such as heart attacks,That's better than the 4.9 percent growth recorded Robotic arm in the second quarter and the 2.4 percent growth in the same period a year ago. strokes, emphysema, bronchitis and cancers cancers of the mouth, larynx, throat and lungs. This has led to cigarettes being nicknamed by some as "death sticks" and "cancer sticks." It would be easy for Zimbabweans to join the anti-smoking bandwagon yet this year alone the country earned over $1.2 billion in much needed cash through the sale of more than 163m kilograms of tobacco as well as providing employment.

Understandably considering our economy's dependency on tobacco exports most of which are used in the manufacturing of cigarettes – Zimbabwe finds itself in a dilemma. Perhaps, however technology already has an an answer: e-cigarettes.E-cigarettes which are also known as electronic vaping devices or electronic nicotine delivery systems are battery powered smokeless devices that are made to look like and are used instead of cigarettes. They consist of an atomizer that dispenses liquid nicotine the addictive component in cigarettes and a battery. Most have a rechargeable battery that you can charge using a USB cable which means the cigarette is reusable since it is not consumed as lit cigarettes are. The devices are filled using liquid nicotine which can be made by extracting it from actual Virginia tobacco which Zimbabwe grows in abundance. The liquid can be flavoured using techniques that are not, entirely different from those currently employed in the manufacture of cigarettes. The key will be persuading enough merchants to accept DMAA the coin. Thieves steal lighting equipment for Fresno City Hall Christmas tree

"It is going to be the best tree we've ever had period," Jensen said. But it almost didn't happen because a Grinch stole close to $2,000 worth of equipment that was used to power the tree."We had a spider box, that is a junction box for all of the electric wires to connect into, that was stolen, the power cord that supplies it going to the Christy Box by the fountain was stolen, the remote control switch that turns the tree on and off was stolen,In the midst of similar transitions are Michael Cimarusti, the Los Angeles chef and owner of Providence drill rod and the new Connie and Ted's." Jensen said.Fortunately, Electric Motor Shop and Supply Company in Fresno loaned volunteers the equipment needed to power the lights."We're fortunate this year with the volunteers and the people who have stepped up to help replace the items that were taken," Fresno City Hall Press Secretary Micahel Lukens said.

"It's awesome if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have a tree. We'd have a tree but it'd look like the way it does now, no lights, no ornaments, it would be a Charlie Brown tree," Jensen said.Volunteers say just wait until this tree is finished and all lit. It will be a display showing how the community came together to spread the holidays spirit."Times are tough where people don't have a Christmas tree this time of year because of foreclosure or the economy being bad, well this is kind of what's going to be their tree," Jensen said. The Merced County Sheriff's Department earlier this month received additional protective and trauma equipment and training for its K-9 unit at a seminar in Elk Grove.Volunteers are an essential part of Targa, he says, "and without them there is sup paddles no way that an event like this can run smoothly."We received the equipment and training, which is valued at approximately $5,000 or more, for free,You want to get attention to the issue. Barack Obama, Libertarian Manufacturing Machine

And it's not just the massive Obamacare boondoggle, although that's the worst and most public example at the moment, every aspect of the administration from the extraordinary and growing deficits to the clueless foreign policy is an advertisement for the overweening incompetence of big government. Before I could make any sense of what had industrial extractor just happened and ask any further questions, I found myself surrounded by a group of immigration officials, along with a few heavily armed airport security guards. As Bill Clinton told us in his 1996 SOTU, "The era of big government is over." It just took us another seventeen years — with five of them under this metastasizing bureaucratic monstrosity of Mr. Obama — to get there. In fact, this government is metastasizing so rapidly that the same Mr. Obama almost never knows what it's doing – or so he says. He only reads about it, we are told,At this point I got scared. Meanwhile, the man who considers himself King of Fairness has fostered a society unprecedented in its unfairness and stratification, at least in recent memory. The very people he is supposed to help suffer most of all.So we are told, especially if we watch the John Stossel Show, that the times are changing and we are entering the era of libertarianism. That's fine by me, because much about libertarianism attracts me. But before we all become a culture of wild and crazy Hayekians, we should pay close attention, because just like almost everything in life, libertarianism isn't perfect. It's an ideology that when tested in the real world may not be the answer to everything. Just who is going to fix those potholes on the Ventura Freeway?

But if small government is coming, if Barack Obama has inadvertently succeeded in turning America libertarian or at least quasi-libertarian, what is needed now, and soon, is some sense of what that really means practically. What in government is worth preserving? We don't hear a lot of discussion of that. And looking toward the coming election we should because it is a tremendous opportunity not only to seem forward thinking, but actually be forward thinking. The problem with the word conservative is that it appears to be facing backwards when, in reality, Obama's leftist ideology is much more an artifact of the past. Conservative or libertarian or something in between, we need to recapture the future.
